"Good pick"
Perfect location next to central train station, 10m walk from city centre. Friendly staff, good rooms, modern styled. Bathtub included. Very tasty and generous breakfast. Only annoyance is that the bed was a twin instead of a double, where two single beds were simply pushed together and not even a double bed sheet. Otherwise, would recommend this place.

"Convenient. Quiet but just missing out on that fifth star"
I stayed at this hotel for five nights for work. It's right next to Den Hague Centraal and is super convenient. The price was great for a junior suite - about $125 US a night. The room was big with a nice view of the park across the street. The bed itself was comfortable but the sheets were like sandpaper. Seriously itchy at first. The shower was one of these stand up in the tub types. There was little water pressure and it was hot enough. I think they were trying to do that energy and water conservation thing. The room was kept clean while I was there. I ate in the hotel restaurant twice. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. The breakfast was a buffet and dinner was a menu dinner. Both meals were pretty damn good. All in all I thought it was a pretty good hotel. In my opinion it was just a little bit off from that last star because of the sheets and the shower. Bottom line is I will probably stay there again. I've stayed at other Hampshire hotels, particularly the one in Leiden, and this one was better.

"Great location!!"
Pros: Excellent location just next to Centraal Station. Good room and bathroom and it's clean. Friendly staff. Easy check in and check out. GREAT gym. We stayed for two nights and it made our trip very easy, A LOT of places - coffee shops, supermarket, shopping area around. Cons: The light is not too bright in the room, €10 per hour if you'd like to have late check out, must pay the gym (we thought it was part of the hotel facility so we were a bit surprised when we had to pay when check out)

"Excellent location but a bit dark and cold"
From all the hotels in The Hague, the Babylon probably is most conveniently located to the train station and some government buildings I had meetings at. It barely takes 40 minutes from AMS Shiphol Airport to the hotel, which was great, given our late arrival in the Netherlands. The walk from the train station to the hotel is very short, which makes the train station also a convenient place to get a coffee or have breakfast, which was much less costly than at the hotel. Hotel check-in was smooth. A late check-out that I requested was Euro 10 per hour, which at 4 1/2 hours cost me Euro 45. My room was on a higher floor and had a balcony facing an office building at close distance. The room was unusually dark; I realized that some fluorescent lights in the bed's headboard did not work, which given the late hour I just decided to accept. The room also felt very cold, which the heat/AC did not change much; maybe it was an insulation issue, as it was freezing outside. So in sum, if location is the main criterion, the Babylon is hard to beat. But weighing other factors may lead to a different result.

Museums

In the Mauritshuis you can admire an exceptional collection of Dutch masters, with the pinnacle being Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring. The world-famous Gemeentemuseum Den Haag is also absolutely worth a visit, particularly because it has the largest collection of Mondriaans in the world. View the largest painting in the Netherlands at Panorama Mesdag. Perhaps a break from art in favour of modern technology? Indulge as much looking, listening and experimenting as you like in the Museon science museum. Enjoy films about people, nature and science on an enormous domed screen in the Omniversum, a fantastic experience for young and old.

Historic buildings

From Hampshire Hotel – Babylon The Hague it’s easy to walk to the Noordeinde Palace, the Koninklijke Schouwburg and the Binnenhof. The visitor centre in the Binnenhof organises tours through the Ridderzaal, the Upper Chamber and the Lower Chamber. These tours are interesting for anyone with an interest in Dutch politics.
